Whether you were born and raised in the country - or you've just recently become hooked on the country way of life - you know firsthand that country folks live better than most. You can't get enough of the peace and quiet, coupled with the incredibly fresh air. You look forward to the uninterrupted views of breathtaking sunrises in the morning, followed by a sky full of twinkling stars in the night. You have an unexplainable appreciation for the land and all it produces - especially the heaps of fresh fruits and veggies grown straight from your own garden. Most of all, you enjoy being able to go outside at any time of day, looking like a hot mess, knowing that no one (except the cows) will ever witness it. If that's not freedom in its highest form, we don't know what is.
This laid-back, simple kind of life is what you've worked hard to build and more importantly, preserve. At CFM Insurance, we think you deserve to sit back, relax, and enjoy that very lifestyle most envy without those pesky 'what ifs' coming along and hindering it. That's why we created a unique, customizable insurance product line with the country life you love in mind.
CFM Countryside Insurance is specifically designed to protect smaller, non-commercial rural acreage homes, outbuildings, equipment, and livestock all on one policy. So, no matter what version of country life you pursue after the work day is done - whether it be a low-maintenance homestead or a full-fledged hobby farm - you can rest assured it has the best coverage possible through the CFM Countryside program.
To see if your property may be a good fit for our Countryside product, take a look at this simple breakdown of the program's main policy eligibility guidelines, courtesy of the CFM Underwriting Team.
Now that you have a better idea of what the CFM Countryside Insurance program covers, take a closer look at our two Countryside policy lines that provide broad and flexible coverage for each unique country property.
The CFM Countryside Exclusive product is ideal for newer country homes that sit on no more than 240 acres, have a minimum value of $125,000, and come with some farm exposures (e.g. a barn, work shed, tractor, or l ivestock). To qualify for this program, you must have primary, full-time employment outside of farming, or be retired from farming.
The CFM Countryside Estate product is ideal for more modest country homes that sit on no more than 240 acres, have a minimum value of $60,000, and come with some farm exposures, like the Countryside Exclusive program. Again, you must have a full-time job outside of farming or be retired from farming to qualify for this coverage.
While CFM Countryside Insurance is perfect for rural homesteads/hobby farms, it's not designed to provide coverage for any kind of profitable farm ventures. If your country property expands beyond the guidelines listed above or becomes your main source of income, you'll need a farm policy to provide the appropriate coverage for your new business.
